Purpose

  • Strength and conditioning for PE and athletics; used before school, during PE, and after school.

Activities

  • Weightlifting (Olympic and traditional)
  • Circuit training
  • Team conditioning workouts
  • Athletic Physical Education periods

Considerations

  • Minimum capacity: 60 students simultaneously
  • Desired equipment quantities: 
    • 15–20+ power racks
    • Dumbbells (full range, multiples)
    • Medicine balls, boxes, resistance training equipment
  • Roll-up door opening to outdoor workout pads, where weather allows
  • Adequate HVAC
  • Heavy year-round use
  • High supervision needs
  • Must support adjacency to locker rooms
