Fencing Requirements

To create a consistent and secure boundary, all sites shall be enclosed with:

  • 8-foot perimeter fencing as the district standard
  • 1-inch chain link mesh to prevent footholds and climbing
  • Visibility-through fencing except where privacy screening is required

Privacy Screening

Use privacy slats or screening only in designated areas, such as:

  • Kindergarten play areas
  • Specialized programs requiring visual shielding

Privacy screening should not obstruct critical security camera sightlines.

Gates & Perimeter Access

  • All vehicle and pedestrian gates should be lockable and monitored.
  • After-hours fields shall be physically separated from main academic buildings with internal fencing.
  • Where appropriate, pedestrian gates can support electronic access control.

Parking Lots & Vehicular Safety

  • Provide bright, uniform lighting for all parking areas and walkways.
  • Avoid configurations where delivery vehicles interact with student pathways.
  • Install bollards or controlled access devices where necessary for safety.
