Fencing Requirements
To create a consistent and secure boundary, all sites shall be enclosed with:
- 8-foot perimeter fencing as the district standard
- 1-inch chain link mesh to prevent footholds and climbing
- Visibility-through fencing except where privacy screening is required
Privacy Screening
Use privacy slats or screening only in designated areas, such as:
- Kindergarten play areas
- Specialized programs requiring visual shielding
Privacy screening should not obstruct critical security camera sightlines.
Gates & Perimeter Access
- All vehicle and pedestrian gates should be lockable and monitored.
- After-hours fields shall be physically separated from main academic buildings with internal fencing.
- Where appropriate, pedestrian gates can support electronic access control.
Parking Lots & Vehicular Safety
- Provide bright, uniform lighting for all parking areas and walkways.
- Avoid configurations where delivery vehicles interact with student pathways.
- Install bollards or controlled access devices where necessary for safety.
