Single Point of Entry
All schools must have one designated public entry point during school hours.
This entry shall include:
- A secure vestibule or lobby
- Direct visibility from office staff to approaching visitors
- Cameras covering the approach, entry, and adjacent pathways
Lobby / Vestibule Design
The front entry sequence must:
- Guide visitors into a supervised public lobby, not directly into the office workspace
- Contain:
- Visitor check-in kiosks
- Waiting area seating
- A secure reception counter
- Visitor-accessible restrooms
- After check-in and clearance, visitors access campus through a controlled, electronically unlockable door.
Reception Counter & Staff Safety
Reception areas must:
- Allow face-to-face interaction while protecting confidential materials
- Shield staff workspace from direct unsupervised public access
- Provide sightlines to the lobby and exterior approach
Maintain a warm, welcoming, non-institutional appearance
